EU funding of IASB under threat

The future of the funding of the international accounting standard-setter – from the coffers of the European Commission – is under threat, unless the organization can improve its governance: the EU’s new internal market commissioner, Michel Barnier, has suggested that future funding of the accounting standard-setter could depend on whether it bows to political pressure from the European Commission and makes changes to its governance.
